Some fantastic impromptu street work from Brad Downey and co during his workshop at Nuart in September. Amazing how Brad improvises with objects in a city and keeps it fresh. Sorry for the bad quality video, shot on a mobile phone on the run.
Neckface, the only street artist worthy of halloween, show opens tomorrow at ohwow gallery
Neckface will turn Miami inside out for his premiere solo exhibition in the Magic City. This Halloween night, Neckface will deconstruct all 10,000 square feet of O.H.W.O.W. and build a world like no other. Featuring a large-scale haunted house installation, complete with Neckface’s iconic imagery, the Devil’s Disciple exhibition is designed to frighten viewers as they enter the space.
The crux of the exhibition though will surely be Neckface’s new work. A deviation from the norm, it is chock-full of his signature imagery interweaved with a personal dimension that is much more palpable in the paintings. After so many years of crafting a persona and building up walls around himself and his moniker, the reclusive Neckface has finally cracked open the door ever so slightly and let us into his world.
With the introduction of historical and pop culture references into the visual storytelling, the paintings have grown more complex and more intricate. This newer imagery is balanced by considered application of wit throughout the work in the signature Neckface hand style. In addition to the paintings, a series of metal mask sculptures will be on display. Reminiscent of African Woyo masks, Neckface reworks the sculptures with sharp edges and creates an object that is distinctly contemporary and unmistakably his.
There’s no doubt that Devil’s Disciple will be a breakout exhibition for Neckface. The work created will surely be considered his finest to date and is anticipated to redefine him and endear him to a whole new legion of fans.

World Renowned Street Artist Shepard Fairey Publicly Unveils a New Art
Installation Outside the Levi’s(R) Times Square Flagship Store
Special installation commemorates the launch of Obey x Levi’s(R), a
limited-edition clothing collection jointly designed by Fairey, OBEY Clothing
and the Levi’s Brand
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ — To commemorate the launch of the new,limited-edition Obey x Levi’s® apparel collection — a line of street-inspired
menswear styles, co-designed by street artist, Shepard Fairey, his OBEY
Clothing collection and the Levi’s® Brand — the artist unveiled a special,
public art installation last night in front of the Levi’s® Store in Times
Square. Executed on Military Island, in the heart of one of the world’s
busiest intersections, this special event offered the public a rare, inside
view of the acclaimed street artist’s unique process. The finished piece is a
layered collage of varying imagery, simultaneously addressing issues that
range from global warming to the power of propaganda to influence. To further
mark the occasion, Fairey also created a series of four new poster designs and
immediately following the mural’s unveiling, the artist signed museum-quality
reproductions of these new works for fans who had eagerly lined up outside the
denim leader’s Times Square store. The publicly-executed mural unveiled last
night was later affixed to the outside facade of the neighboring Levi’s® Store
location and measures approximately 7.5 feet high x 24 feet wide. This work
is a part of a much larger Fairey-developed mural adorning the Times Square
store’s exterior that is 68 feet in total length and wraps around the corner
of Broadway onto 44th Street. The work will be displayed outside of the
Levi’s® Store in Times Square through November 5, at which point it will be
dismantled and removed from public view.

As part of Nuart’s educational program, several artists give presentations. Brad decided he was too depressed to face the audience, so instead, he held his Q&A whilst sitting up a tree. A mad but wonderful sight to watch.
