Shige Book Release


This Saturday night marks the only Southern California release of the brand new SHIGE book, a 328 page full color collection covering the life’s work of one of Japan’s foremost tattoo talents- SHIGE. The book comes complete with a forward from Horiyoshi III. SHIGE will be limited to 1000 First Edition hard covers, and there will only be 350 released in the entire US. More here…

Gary Baseman has just released new beautiful works of art that offer a mixture of Baseman’s contemporary art and an homage to the costume masks of yesteryear. Vacuum-form masks, all hand painted, feature the Enlightened Chou, the central figure in Baseman’s most recent exhibition La Noche de la Fusion at Corey Helford Gallery. "One major recent acquisition is Hank Willis Thomas’ series Unbranded: Reflections in Black by Corporate America," writes the Brooklyn Museum. "The whole series consists of 82 images, two for each year from 1968 to 2008, and the acquisition includes half of the series: one image from each year the series covers." More info and video here…
