In Slovenia, a new artistic movement has started: Recessionism. Recessionists are inspired by the economic recession and are optimistically opening up space to something new. The breakthrough from the recession requires active individuals and associations. The selection of Recessionist artworks was exhibited for the first time in The City Museum of Ljubljana June 12-15. "This is a new print just finished by the legendary Self Help Graphics printshop in East LA," writes The Mac. "This is the nicest and biggest print I’ve done so far and it’s an honor to have had it produced by such an important and respected printshop as SHG. The printer, Joe Alpuche did a perfect job. The title is Ixtaccihuatl (basically pronounced "ee.stok.SEE.wot") which is the name of a large mountain in Mexico said to resemble a sleeping woman." More from Mac here…
