The super sweet and super gifted Audrey Kawasaki (Juxtapoz issue #90) has been busily preparing for a special show in Tokyo at Space Yui.
Aud will be showing off fresh 10 paintings and drawings in the show opening May 7, which will remain on display through May 16, 2009. Audrey told us that is great to be able to go to Japan and work with a gallery there, as it reminds her of her Japanese ancestry- a part of herself she had not been previously able to embrace in quite the manner that this special showing provides.
From what we see above, the environment has been extremely inspiring. Anyone down for an impromptu Tokyo trip?

Brandi Milne, a self-taught artist from Anaheim California is no stranger to candy, clowns and funk music. Using fashion, music and childhood memories as her main pool of influence, she tends to favor beauty and aestheticism in her work as opposed to commenting on social issues or propaganda.
While she has worked with large companies such as Hurley and Gelaskins, she recently worked on a tee-shirt line that will debut in Wet Seal stores soon. Milne puts on her show Run, Rabbit, Run, at Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles on April 10th. A show that is sure to be adorned with smiling popsicles, drizzling strawberries and fuzzy little bunnies, this show will be nothing less than a “sweet’ time.

20 Questions with JEREMYVILLE

Now entering Jeremyville (Juxtapoz #96): a wonderfully colorful land inhabited by emotionally charged comic characters born from within the mind of its correspondingly named creator.
Sydney and NYC based Jeremyville is busier these days than ever with his massively popular characters, designs, apparel, comics, books, and more. Yeah, this guy seems to have a hand in a little bit of everything. And that’s just the way he likes it.
Jeremyville kindly answered our 20 Questions from his Australian studio. Read what’s on the mind of Jeremyville in 20 Questions with Jeremyville here…

San Francisco based artist extraordinaire Jeremy Fish (Juxtapoz cover #71) is in Mexico City right now for his Upper Playground exhibition Nature Studies, which opens April 2nd, 2009 in La Condesa at the fresh FIFTY24MX.
We’re not exactly sure how Fish has been able to produce so much stunning artwork in recent months, but we figure his superhuman dedication and talent probably helps out. The most exciting part about all the new work is his obvious shift in focus. More here…

Chronicling the story of Craig Costello aka KRINK or KR (Juxtapoz #80), this short by Dan Bruun and Jason Schneider explores the humble SF/NYC roots of the cultural sensation that is Krink.
Featuring interviews with KR and Alife’s Rob Cristofaro, “Dripping with Krink” explores the meteoric rise of Costello’s silver drippy ink from a personal homemade graffiti mop to the slickly packaged worldwide phenomenon it is today.
